Drive Your Old Car Day

The first day of Spring is promoted by the Federation of Historic Motor Vehicles SA as ‘Drive It Day’ in SA. For a number of years, Neil & May Schubert have organised a run for us on this day, but they are unable to do so this year.
Therefore we are going to take up the invitation from the Gawler Veteran Vintage and Classic Vehicle Club to join them at Bethany Reserve; Bethany Road, Bethany at around 12.30pm on Friday September 1st 2017.
We will leave the Johnstone Park Clubrooms at 9.30 am and travel to Mount Pleasant Showgrounds for smoko. ‘Hills dwellers’ are welcome to meet us there, but it would be appreciated if you could let me know if you are going to do so. BYO smoko, but there are bakeries at Mount Pleasant if you wish to buy anything.
From Mount Pleasant we will travel to Menglers Hill to enjoy the views and sculptures (if the weather is kind!!) before continuing on to Bethany Reserve.
Bethany Reserve has a large shelter shed and toilets, but there should be quite a few people there, so chairs may be handy. There are no other facilities there, so bring your own lunch.
This is generally a very well patronised gathering by other clubs and individuals, so a very interesting gathering of vehicles should be present.
