SENIORS RUN 21/8/2025

On Thursday 21^st August 2025 we had a run to Tailem Bend for a senior’s lunch.

Everything started well with 20 members present with 3 visitors. I took my SLK for the run and have never taken so long to get to Tailem Bend.

I never went over 80k but still had to slow down for the burgundy Jaguar to catch up with all the other vehicles behind.

We did eventually get to the Riverside Hotel, and they had set aside a table for us which we extended because someone could not count.

They then took our orders, and we got some drinks and waited. And waited and after an hour some meals started to come out. Some of our members had finished and started sweets before the last of us ate. Considering there were less than a dozen other patrons one could only wonder what the problem was. Some ice creams had obviously been sitting on the counter for 15 minutes before they brought them out.

The staff were very pleasant, but it just goes to show what can happen on the manager’s day off!

However, some great cars had a day out and the company was most enjoyable as usual.
