Having a rest and a chat while waiting to cross the river at Mannum

It was a cold and overcast morning on Wednesday August 15 when a small group of Members left the Clubrooms at 10 am. We travelled to Mannum where we met some more members, in all there were 16 members in 8 cars and 1 motorcycle, we then had a brief stop in Arnold Park in Mannum, the birth place of the PS Marion, before crossing the River Murray on the Ferry, then headed out along the Swan Reach Road.

We stopped at Kroehn’s Lookout to enjoy a magnificent view of the River Murray, we then passed through Nildottie and drove on to the Swan Reach Hotel for lunch where we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The hotel is in a great location on the clifftop with spectacular views of the river. A lovely lunch was enjoyed by all with lots of friendly chatter and laughter and all too soon it was time to head for home. We left via the Ferry and headed out along the road to Sedan and Cambrai and then we each made our own way  home.

It was a very enjoyable day and a big thank you to Howard and Myra for organising this at very short notice.
