Cruise to Mary Ann Reserve Mannum 16/1/2026

The start of another club year and another cruise to Mannum. A nice easy little drive and this year quite cool and a bit breezy but a pleasant change from the swelteringly hot days that we experienced recently. Our little group set up camp as usual and proceeded over a drink or two, to discuss what everyone had been up to over Christmas. The Mary Ann Reserve was happily free of corellas, although we could hear a few in the distance, our cars stayed clean and they did not visit us. The Murray Princess was in dock, undergoing significant maintenance I believe, so that provided another point of interest, as workmen were still finishing off the day’s activities. A bit late on a Friday night for that I thought, but they were probably from Adelaide, so wanted to get as much done as possible.

Then tucker time and interesting to see how multicultural we have become by our choices of food. KFC, sushi and Thai rolls as well as more conventional grub. What would our parents have thought? Mine was pretty good, anyway.

The sun was on the way down, so time to head for home. Some of us crossed the ferry and went home on the Eastern side, the rest stayed on the Western side, but either way, another “cruise to Mannum” over for another year.
