We left Murray Bridge and travelled through the countryside of Palmer, Tungkillo, Mt. Torrens, Lobethal and

Lenswood before finally arriving at “Stella Creek Cherries”. Part of the trip was a little daunting, especially when we thought, for a short time, that we may have taken the wrong way. We were just wondering where we could turn around when suddenly, everything was OK!
It started to rain on our arrival. No-one expected that, as the temperature was supposed to be about 33°. Those who had brought rain gear soon put it on and went off to pick cherries. The rain really wasn’t a problem.

Eventually, most of us had full buckets and were wondering how much the contents weighed, not to mention how much they had eaten! After paying for the fruit picked, we were ready to head off to the Lobethal Hotel for lunch.
Thirty-two people sat down to an enjoyable lunch. I believe that Trevor J. may not have been seeing things all too well. He had had only the one beer and went to get himself a cup of coffee, but ended up with hot chocolate. Maybe he should have gone to “Spec Savers”!
After lunch, everyone made their own way home. We travelled home through Woodside to Nairne, stopping off at the Strawberry Farm to make a purchase. It rounded off a good day’s outing.
