Presentation Dinner March 19

56 members gathered at the Swanport Hotel on the 19th March, 2016, for the Club’s Presentation Dinner for 2015/16. The tables were very attractively laid and were decorated with pearlescent maroon and gold helium-filled balloons, which looked great and gave the event a festive feel.
Our President, John Courtney, welcomed everyone and proceeded to share with us a protracted story of his personal woes associated with shopping with his wife Vicki at Target and about all the trouble he manages to get himself into! It was all good fun and was a great ice-breaker to get everyone laughing and in the mood for an enjoyable evening.
Without much ado, we all received our main courses, a selection of 3 choices served as alternate drop. There were a few people I noticed waiting to see what their partner received before digging in and it eventuated that our own Eric Kuss had his offering whisked from under his nose and replaced with his better half’s serving!
We were not sure just what Graham Edwards thought when he found himself sharing his salad with a wet and soggy spider which crawled out from under a lettuce leaf. The best way to describe it is in poetic form, I believe! (Any parent or grandparent should know the tune to this!)

Incy Wincy Spider appeared on Graham’s plate
From hiding in the salad, Incy thought he could escape
But Graham spied him from above whilst on his little walk
And despatched poor Incy Wincy, with his knife and fork!

Mains course completed, we moved straight into the focal point of the evening – trophy presentations. There follows here a list of the individual trophies, their meaning and this year’s winners:
