Cruise to Swanport Reserve
Friday February 10th 2017
After some quite hot weather, this cruise run was an extremely pleasant change. In fact, I can’t think of a better way to spend a warm summer evening than sitting under the shady trees of Swanport Reserve, having a cool drink and a good yarn in very pleasant company. This was only improved by having a great array of vehicles to check out. Sometimes something proved so interesting that one had to actually rise from one’s seat and have a closer look. Some of these vehicles we see regularly, some not so regularly. The attraction was of course the ability to have the vehicles inspected, to comply with our club rules and DPTI requirements for Conditional Registration. Our thanks must go of course, to Darren and his team, who were kept busy for quite some time. Well done fellows.
And that was it. Not much happened really, just a very enjoyable evening was had by all. Then as some started to leave, we were treated to some hill climbing demonstrations, some more dramatic than others, but all ultimately successful. It did seem that the cheering helped, perhaps more so than some of the advice offered! At least no one was left behind. As I said, just a good night.
