Meadows Pub Run

This year’s “Pub Run” was again well patronised and, thanks to Howard for taking the rain with him to Queensland, run in quite pleasant weather. Our route took us along the newly completed Ferries McDonald road, so new in fact that it did not have the official opening until the day after we traversed it. A very pleasant drive, with everything looking very green.

Our stop at the Strathalbyn Markets saw most of us top up with Coffee and it looked like quite a few opted for donuts as well. Not sure if many “bargains” were purchased. I seemed to be too busy talking to notice.

Leaving Strath, we headed to Meadows via Macclesfield. Again, another very picturesque drive. All then piled into the Meadows Hotel for a great pub lunch, where we were very well looked after by Deb Coligan, one half of the management team. I certainly enjoyed my meal and hope everyone else did as well.

Then everyone gradually dispersed, some to go home, some to investigate some antique shops, and a few of us went home via Hahndorf, for coffee and cake at Otto’s bakery, just in case we needed a little extra. All in all a very pleasant day, I hope the other participants agree.
