Twin Bridges Rally 13 -15 October 2023
The Rally was a great success. Apparently, Riverland members are still talking about how they enjoyed themselves.
On Friday, when entrants registered, we had a variety of slices and cakes for afternoon tea, followed by the casserole dinner which was enjoyed by all as usual, and many thanks to the ladies who made them. There was a great variety of dishes. For dessert we had ice-cream and a large Red Velvet cake from McCues.
The “Mystery Trip” was to Goolwa then on the Cockle Train to Victor Harbor. It was a surprise for everyone. They thought we were going on a boat. We had a carriage to ourselves coming and going and the young volunteer conductors kept us entertained, as we did them.
We had Brunch at the Grosvenor Hotel, and after a bit of a shaky start, the platters of hot food kept coming out.
The dinner Saturday night was at the RSL Club, and we had an entertainer who kept thing moving along all night.
Sunday morning bright and early, the Lions Club gentlemen were there getting breakfast organised for the group before they left for home.
After breakfast, the quiz answers and a few thank you speeches, everyone started to leave, and after many goodbyes, the cleanup started, but as usual there were plenty of volunteers and the hall was back to normal by around 10:00 a.m.
