Humber National Rally BBQ
25 April 2014
Members from Humber Clubs from around Australia started arriving at our Clubrooms from about 2-30 pm for the start of their stay in Murray Bridge. After registering and receiving their rally bags, they were served Afternoon Tea by ACCMB. Most then stood around talking or viewing the Captain’s Cottage Museum until time for dinner.
Dinner consisted of BBQ meats (cooked by Terry, Bob and Peter) plus a variety of salads served by our Club ladies. This was followed by dessert and coffee. After receiving their instructions for the weekend, most left for their accommodation around 8-30 pm.
Meanwhile, it was all hands on deck in the kitchen for cleaning up duties, while the men packed the tables away and cleaned the room. I had many comments about the number of volunteers we had working, how organised we were and how good we looked in our Club jumpers. Thanks to everyone who helped on that day and made the event so successful for our Club.
