Lerwin Vintage/Classic Vehicle Display
Lerwin’s fourth Vintage / Classic Vehicle Display was held on Friday, 21 November in perfect weather conditions. John Courtney, President of the Murray Bridge Auto Collectors Club, promoted the event at a Club meeting and members were eager to showcase their vehicles.
Eight vehicles and one motorbike with side car filled the Lerwin staff car park—a perfect place for the display. Although the activity was thought to be mainly for men with 22 attending, four enthusiastic ladies also took a keen interest in the display.
The program began with owners giving a brief overview of their respective vehicles. Residents then enjoyed a close inspection and took the opportunity to ask further questions between photo shoots. Club members joined residents and family in a sausage sizzle and were then presented with Certificates of Appreciation. Residents wore name tags which created further conversations.
Special thanks to family members, staff, volunteers and vehicle owners; Peter Jennings, Murray Piltz, Eric Kuss, Allen Wegener, Tom West, Brian May, Mike and Arlene Chapman, for sharing their stories and love of Vintage/Classic vehicles.
Feedback from residents, family and members of the Auto Collectors Club, declared the day an overwhelming success.
