Club members enjoying a relaxing picnic
What a great way to celebrate Australia Day, just lazing on the lawns watching the River activities surrounded by friends. The weather was perfect, nice and warm (no flies – think they gave us a fly free day). Twenty cars and 40 people took off from the Clubrooms. The drive to Walker Flat went off without any hitches. The scenery along the River after leaving Mannum was picture perfect. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for “smoko” as we had to be at Walker Flat by 10.30. There were plenty of cars from other Clubs, so the men had a great time wandering about and chatting to other like minded enthusiasts. We all enjoyed lamingtons for morning tea, hope we didn’t miss any one. It was great to see some of our Club members won trophies and prizes, Graham and Maureen Edwards won a trophy for the President’s Choice, Mike Zerna won Best Original car, Mike and Arlene won a raffle prize as well as a trophy for Editor’s Cut, and Ian and Lyn Buchanan won a raffle prize.
So a great day for everyone concerned.
Our congratulations to the Murray Mid Mallee Car Club for an excellent venue and making everyone feel welcome.
On such a great day of fun and fellowship, makes us realise that we do live in the “Lucky Country”
